Written as a reaction to a teacher asking 'How do I get my class to be quiet?'
The initial response given - 'Go away and think about it' was not enough and to help further, the Toolkit began as Post-Its, scribbles, notes and jottings which linked and grew to become a 'route map' showing the most important ways to a successful, well-managed classroom.
Here is the result; - a Toolkit to help any teacher to:
- Manage the classroom effectively
- See the next steps for improving behaviour within the class
- Have a reminder of the dos and don'ts of teaching primary school children
- Ask questions about their own practice
Originally created for Newly Qualified Teachers in their first few terms, the toolkit is also of great value to Established Teachers who need to 'go back to basics' from time to time. It is equally useful in the Teacher Training Environment as part of the course material or to Teacher Mentors working in schools and LEAs in support of new teachers.
